Therapeutic Massage

1. How is therapeutic massage different from other types of massage?
Unlike relaxation massage, therapeutic massage targets specific health goals and problem areas. The massage therapist uses techniques to address issues like chronic pain, limited mobility, injuries, anxiety, migraines, or postoperative recovery. It is results-oriented and customized to each client’s needs.
2. What are the benefits of therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage can decrease muscle tension, reduce pain and stiffness, improve mobility, promote relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety, aid injury recovery, increase blood flow and circulation, boost endorphin levels, and improve overall well-being. Leaving the patient with less discomfort, sleeping better, relaxed, and improved blood flow and circulation.
3. Is therapeutic massage painful?

Any massage could have areas that may have soreness or pain. Our goal is to get you to less discomfort or pain-free.

4. How often should I get a therapeutic massage?
Depending on your individual needs, after we access you, we may recommend Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

1. What is manual lymphatic drainage?
Manual lymphatic drainage is a light, rhythmic massage that helps stimulate lymph fluid movement throughout the body. Using gentle strokes encourages lymph vessels to contract and lymph to keep flowing on its path. This specialized technique aids immune function, reduces swelling, and promotes healing.
2. Who can benefit from manual lymphatic drainage?

Those with swelling, circulation issues, blocked lymph nodes, infections, injuries, and inflammation can benefit, including elderly patients, adults, teenagers, and children. Post-op patients needing recovery, those with chronic conditions, and people with immunosuppression also see results from this gentle technique to drain fluid, boost immunity, and promote healing. As for age group, anyone from a baby, child to seniors.

3. How long does a manual lymphatic drainage session last?

The average session takes 35-45 minutes.

4. Are there any side effects?

Common temporary side effects include mild discomfort, muscle soreness, fatigue, headache, skin irritation, and increased swelling as fluid begins moving. Dizziness rarely occurs. Staying hydrated, allowing time to rest after sessions, and communicating with your therapist help minimize any side effects.

5. Can I combine manual lymphatic drainage with other treatments?

Yes, it can. I overdeliver and add more modalities each and every time.

Cranial Sacral Massage

1. What is cranial sacral massage?
Cranial sacral massage is a gentle, hands-on technique that involves light touches to the skull, face, spine, and pelvis. It works to release restrictions in the cranial sacral system, which includes the skull, spine, and connected membranes. The goal is to improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.
2. What conditions can not be supported by cranial sacral massage?

Increased Intracranial Pressure.

Acute Stroke (6-8 weeks)

Herniated Medulla Oblongata.

Recent Skull Fracture (6-8 weeks)

Cerebral Aneurysm.

Spina Bifida (Myelomeningocele)

Arnold Chiari Malformation.

Cerebrospinal Fluid leak.

In any of the following conditions, you can not have cranial sacral therapy. In some situations, you can use this modality; you have to wait for the time noted.

3. Who can craniosacral benefit?

Craniosacral therapy can aid people with migraines, back and neck pain, stress, anxiety, PTSD, concussions, sinus issues, ear infections, neurological conditions, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, infant colic, ADHD, and more. Its gentle approach is suitable for all ages, from babies to the elderly.

People with significant medical issues like a stroke or brain issues are not good candidates.

4. How long is a typical cranial sacral massage session?

1 hour  or can be added into an integrated 90-minute session

5. What should I expect during a cranial sacral massage session?

You’ll lie fully clothed as the therapist gently touches your head, spine, pelvis, and feet to assess the cranial sacral rhythm. The therapist will then use delicate holds and movements to release restrictions and improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. The session is done in a calm setting, with you relaxing as the therapist works. Communication occurs to ensure your comfort. Leaving you feeling relaxed and rested and with a  quieter mind

2. How do you sanitize your equipment?

Staff uses simple green. We have an air purifier in the room, and the table has a vinyl table protector

3. What should I do if I'm not feeling well on the day of my appointment?

Are you having flu-like symptoms or run down, or if you have a fever, Please stay home. If you want to call me to consult, I am happy to discuss how we can reschedule or have you come for lymphatic drainage treatment.

Miscellaneous
1. Do you accept insurance?

Most insurance companies do not cover massages, but we can work with you to check. We often create bills for you to submit to your insurance carrier. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account we accept those as payments.

2. What is your cancellation policy?

Rescheduling: All services may be rescheduled due to illness, child illness, and/or covid. Other emergencies and issues can be addressed as needed.

Refunds: Unfortunately, refunds are not authorized for any reason. If there is an issue or something that needs to resolved, please contact Embracing Wellness to sort things out. Changing your mind, seeing new practitioners, or changes in your work schedule are not adequate or justifiable reasons to be refunded any amount of money.

Transferring Packages: All packages may be used at a later date or transferred to a friend or family member for no additional fee. They can also be allocated for charitable purposes to help people in need if you’re unable to continue using them. Please let Embracing Wellness know if you are booking or transferring your sessions to someone else or possibly donating your left over sessions.

Refunds, When Issued: If using a credit card for payment, your refund will be subject to the fees the business was charged upon initially capturing the payment.

Please be mindful that this is the business owner’s only form of income. Thank you for your understanding of this matter!

3. Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, we offer gift certificates, and they are a great way to show your appreciation to others, Family members, or clients of your business.

4. Can you come to my home or office, and is there an additional cost?

Yes , this is not typical . If we decide to set up a home visit.  There are additional costs involved including a travel and set up fees .  For clients who have significant medical needs. I will make arrangements to come to the house .

Events and Speaking

1. Do you do corporate events?
A corporate event would require a deposit. Depending on the event
it may require more than one massage therapist and additional fees would apply .
2. Do you do speaking engagements?

Yes, we do offer speaking engagements primarily for our coaching and disability enrichment programs. If you would like us to speak at your event, please feel free to contact us for further details. Please note that fees may apply.
